It's also home to the TOORO CULTURAL AND CONSERVATION EDUCATION CENTRE , where we combine traditional knowledge with contemporary methods to promote the coexistence of people and wildlife. At TCRD (Tooro Cultural Research and Development), we believe that conservation begins with people. Former generations were guided by deep ecological knowledge and cultural practices that enabled a sustainable use of resources. 🐒 The wildlife and biodiversity of the Tooro region are unparalleled. Kibale National Park is home to the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda, and the region is home to numerous endemic species of wildlife and plant life that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. However, this biodiversity is under threat from habitat destruction, land degradation and, unsustainable practices.
